Don't underestimate the power of Human Resources - How well is your HR team working for you? (You may be in for a pleasant surprise!)
An HR professional’s role in a company cannot be overstated.
Aside from the hiring, training and payroll aspects of the job, the human resource department plays a direct role in the overall happiness of employees. This happiness can have direct financial implications for a company’s success as well as the health of the US job landscape. In one Gallup study, unhappy workers were found to cost the US between $450-550 billion in lost productivity.
Apart from financial ramifications, studies have shown that being unhappy at work can lead to a myriad of health issues, including loss of sleep, unhealthy weight gain, lowered immune systems, and can even ruin relationships.
With so much riding on the issue, one firm ventured to find out if HR professionals are succeeding in their task of keeping happy, healthy employees. They did this by going directly to the source—the workers—and asking them one simple question: How do you feel about your job?
They were pleasantly surprised to find that HR superheroes around the nation are doing amazing work keeping employees happy. A majority say they not only like their jobs… they love them!
