LESSON 4: Vacation
Legislation will vary among provinces with regards to mandatory increases
There are 2 parts to this legislation: Vacation Time & Vacation Pay
- Vacation Time - employees are entitled to 2 weeks’ vacation time after each 12-month vacation entitlement period
- Vacation Pay - must be at least 4% of the "gross" wages earned in the 12-month vacation entitlement year or stub period
- An employee's contract of employment may provide a greater right or benefit with respect to vacation time and/or pay
- Because there is no break in the employment relationship during a period of statutory leave, the time on leave counts toward the completion of a vacation entitlement year or stub period

Bloody Caesar
